Dr. Mark Miravalle, one of the Church’s leading Mariologists, will join Jerry and Debbie to discuss the Virgin Mary’s request at Fatima that the Holy Father consecrate the world – and Russia in particular – to her Immaculate Heart. Some say it was done correctly, while others contend that it wasn’t. Mary said there would be a period of peace following the consecration. If so, what gives? Thursday is Cinco de Mayo. Wikipedia describes it this way:

Cinco de Mayo (pronounced: [ˈsiŋko ðe ˈmaʝo]; Spanish for “May 5th”, or literally, “Five of May”) is a celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is sometimes mistaken to be Mexico’s Independence Day—the most important national holiday in Mexico—which is celebrated on September 16.

How many times have you heard the words at the conclusion of Mass, “Go in peace to love and serve the Lord?” How do we most effectively “serve the Lord?” By bringing Him to others. As it says on the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops:

After the blessing, the deacon dismisses the people. In fact, the dismissal gives the liturgy its name. The word “Mass” comes from the Latin word, ” Missa.” At one time, the people were dismissed with the words “Ite, missa est” (literally meaning “Go, she—meaning you, the Church—has been sent”). The word “Missa” is related to the word “missio,” the root of the English word “mission.” The liturgy does not simply come to an end. Those assembled are sent forth to bring the fruits of the Eucharist to the world.

May is considered the Month of Mary for Catholics. But that may not mean anything to you, whether you’re Catholic or not.
