The pre-Christian world was dominated by a belief in astrology, to the point where many people thought the stars were gods, or were at least manipulated by deities. Throughout time, this unhealthy idolatry has continued, and has been practiced by many Christians, even though Scripture and the Church forcefully forbid any form of “divination.” One of the most popular means people have used to turn to the stars for guidance in life is the zodiac. Some people build their entire lives around the meaning of their “sign.” And many are up in arms since NASA tinkered with the calendar, thus causing a lot of people to now fall under a different “sign.” What does this all mean? Does it highlight the fact that it’s all superstitious nonsense? Join Jerry and Debbie on Wednesday for a frank discussion of the zodiac, astrology and many other new age practices. Monday’s show about priests was terrific. Three priests called to share what they love about being ordained and ministering to God’s people. And several laypeople shared their love for the priesthood. On Tuesday, we switch to inviting calls from religious brothers and sisters about their vocations. On Monday, Jerry and Debbie will ask for calls from priests to tell us what they love about serving the Church as ordained ministers. Help us spread the word about this, as we know our beloved priests are busy men, and may only on occasion have time to listen to the radio. But we hope to hear in their own words what it’s like to be priests. Join us!

So many people today are providing care for a parent, grandparent or other loved one who is struggling with a disease like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, etc. It can be very difficult, both for the person with the illness and those who are caring for them. If you’re caring for such a person, call and share your story on Wednesday with Jerry and Debbie and the world. Your experience could have a tremendous impact on someone in the same situation.

It’s human nature to look in the rearview mirror as we go through life. And we often see things we kind of wish we could do over. Not necessarily because what you did turned out badly. Life is full of important decisions. Vocational choices, which job to take, how to raise your children and many others. Some things require more discernment than others.
