What’s Your (New) Sign?

The pre-Christian world was dominated by a belief in astrology, to the point where many people thought the stars were gods, or were at least manipulated by deities. Throughout time, this unhealthy idolatry has continued, and has been practiced by many Christians, even though Scripture and the Church forcefully forbid any form of “divination.” One of the most popular means people have used to turn to the stars for guidance in life is the zodiac. Some people build their entire lives around the meaning of their “sign.” And many are up in arms since NASA tinkered with the calendar, thus causing a lot of people to now fall under a different “sign.” What does this all mean? Does it highlight the fact that it’s all superstitious nonsense? Join Jerry and Debbie on Wednesday for a frank discussion of the zodiac, astrology and many other new age practices. They’ll be joined by Sharon Lee Giganti, who was once immersed in the new age movement, but has returned to embrace the Church’s teaching on such things. You can get a head start on the show by visiting Sharon Lee’s website here.

The Identity Search

Be sure to tune in on Monday when Jerry and Debbie welcome your takes on the contemporary issue of gender identity. God creates all people either male or female. Yet, in our world today, there are a growing number of people who believe they are “trapped” in a body of the opposite sex. This includes a lot of young people. What accounts for this gender confusion? Is “gender re-assignment surgery” helpful for those who choose it? What are the moral ramifications? This is a growing issue. Don’t miss our conversation on the next Take 2 With Jerry and Debbie.

HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY

BATTLE OF LEPANTO
..On October 7, 1571, a great victory over the mighty Turkish fleet was won by Catholic naval forces primarily from Spain, Venice, and Genoa under the command of Don Juan of Austria. ..The patchwork team of Catholic ships was powered by the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Knowing that the Christian forces were at a distinct material disadvantage, the holy pontiff, St. Pope Pius V called for all of Europe to pray the Rosary for victory. .. What’s Your Preferred Form of Discernment?

Life is full of important decisions. Vocational choices, which job to take, how to raise your children and many others. Some things require more discernment than others. You wouldn’t pray to seek God’s will about whether to have a cheeseburger or a chicken sandwich for lunch. But the big things should always be taken to prayer. How do you prefer to ask God to know His will? Peace in your heart? Others suggesting you follow a certain path? Your dreams? Reading a Bible passage? Call with your take for Jerry and Debbie on Monday!
