Do You Sleep With the Angels?

Adults need 6-8 hours of sleep at night. A lot of us have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, etc. We worry about the troubles of the next day. We worry about what happened the previous day. Why are we not able to surrender at night and trust God to handle everything? Do you experience sleep deprivation? Or are you able to fall asleep “before your head hits the pillow?” This touches on so many areas of our faith lives – trust, dependence on God, keeping our “temples” healthy, etc. Call with your take on Friday’s show at Noon ET!

  1. Contemplative prayer has made a huge difference in the way I fall asleep. One caller had mentioned that he feels too stressed to do meditative prayer. There is a book by Anne the lay apostle, who also wrote the Volumes. This book is a guide to contemplative prayer. It tells us to picture ourselves in an empty room with only a shelf, and to place on that shelf all of the things on our mind. Then say to yourself “body be still, it is time to pray. Mind quiet, Jesus is coming.” And picture Jesus in the room with you. Becoming more aware that Jesus is with you in such an intimate way will give you great peace of mind.
