This will be an interesting discussion on gift giving habits.  We are talking today about just how discerning people are when choosing Christmas gifts for others.  Many folks put a lot of time and effort into choosing just the right gift for their loved ones.  Others may see gift giving as an obligation and put very little thought into it.  Still, there may be some that just grab a gift on a whim.  Or how about the people that pray before purchasing or making each gift, mainly because they want it to be of God and meaningful for others.  Where would you place yourself on the gift giving spectrum?  Let’s talk about it and see if we can walk away with a better understanding of giving and receiving during the Christmas season. 1-833-288-3986.

Are you still Catholic? Have you had anyone ask you that question recently? So many people have fled the Catholic Church over things like the clergy sex abuse and cover up scandal. Other problems include poor catechesis in many areas, Catholics not living like they should, the constant barrage of attacks on the faith from outside the Church, especially by the mainstream media and liberal social groups. But what is it in the depths of your heart that has you so anchored as a Catholic Christian that you wouldn’t leave no matter what happens or how bad things get? So, Debbie, whose flight is a little later, will be discussing “faith among friends.” This topic was suggested by a dear listener (and the facilitator of the “Inspired By Faith” Book Club), Gigi. The thrust of the conversation will be how comfortable you are bringing up, defending or explaining our beautiful faith when you’re among friends. When someone does us wrong, or we perceive that we’ve been wronged, a very natural human reaction can be to want to even the score. Of course, we get quite a different bit of advice from Jesus in Scripture. Nevertheless, human history is filled with individuals who attempt to exact their pound of flesh. With Thanksgiving upon us, it’s a good reminder of how very blessed most of us are with full refrigerators and freezers, not only this time of year, but usually year round.
