How Should We Respond to Injustices?
The recent tragedy involving the death of George Floyd in a Minneapolis neighborhood has led to a combination of peaceful protests, violence, looting of stores and more, across the United States and around the world. While it’s never a good time for something like this to happen, it’s especially crippling as we have recently been on the verge of reopening from the COVID-19 shutdown. Floyd’s death, and many of the ensuing responses to it, have again brought into focus the need to examine how we ought to respond to injustices such as this. As Catholic Christians, we know how important justice is to maintaining a peaceful society – “Know Justice, Know Peace; No Justice, No Peace.” On Tuesday, share your take on how we should respond to, not only the George Floyd tragedy, but to the countless injustices that are wrought on our world each and every day.
