St. Pope John Paul II
for too many reasons to list!
Everyone looks up to others. That’s a part of life. It’s important that we have role models, people who we call “heroes.” On Friday, Jerry and Debbie will ask you to share your hero with the world. Is it a great saint? Your spouse? A parent? A teacher you had way back when? Give it some thought and prayer, and be sure to call with your take by finishing the sentence, “My hero is…” Looking forward to the show on Friday!
Thursday we’ll talk about “love of money,” which comes from 1 Timothy 6:10, which says that it causes all sorts of evil, including people to fall away from the faith, and to experience all sorts of grief. But what’s up with the difference between “love of money” in that sense, and the proper use of the financial blessings God gives us? And do you have a take on how the world is so caught up in the love of money, that it will stop at nothing to flee from God and His laws? Look around and you will see examples of the Biblical “love of money” everywhere. Share your thoughts on Thursday!
Thank you all for the great contributions you made on today’s show about worry. Your calls, posts and emails were so helpful and as always we all learned a lot!
As promised, here are the Bible citations that were mentioned today on the show. We know they will be a source of strength and comfort for you.
We listed them but are leaving the rest up to you! That’s right…please use your Bible and look up the passages. This way they become near and dear to YOU!
Hebrews 4:16
Matthew 6:27
Matthew 6:34
Philippians 4:6-7
Mark 9:24
Remember this?
~this was popular a while back…just remember the cute little green F-R-O-G if you start to feel anxious…FULLY RELY ON GOD!
or I (Debbie) like to say…
FULLY REST ON GOD
cause worrying is exhausting~ so resting on God works for me!
Do you ever catch yourself saying What if? or How will I? What if this happens to me? How will I make it? What will I do? These seemingly harmless questions we sometimes ask ourselves are filled with worry and can consume our lives.
St. Padre Pio said, ” Pray, Hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”
Today on Take 2…we will look at “worry” in a whole new way! Scripture is filled with passages that tell us not to worry…
Together on Take 2 we will have a real conversation on the pitfalls of worrying and how overcoming this obstacle will naturally lead to a more faith filled life!
Hi, it’s Debbie
Please join us today as we explore the world of “blended families” with all the blessings and possibly the challenges that surround the family. We would love to hear from you if you have a personal experience that you feel comfortable sharing. Take 2 is made great because of YOU! Your wisdom, your experience helps drive the show and we ALL learn each time the show airs!

As I prayed about this topic for today….Luke 6:31 kept entering into my prayer…
The Golden Rule…

Respect for the integrity of creation
2415 The seventh commandment enjoins respect for the integrity of creation. Animals, like plants and inanimate beings, are by nature destined for the common good of past, present, and future humanity.Use of the mineral, vegetable, and animal resources of the universe cannot be divorced from respect for moral imperatives. Man’s dominion over inanimate and other living beings granted by the Creator is not absolute; it is limited by concern for the quality of life of his neighbor, including generations to come; it requires a religious respect for the integrity of creation.
2416 Animals are God’s creatures. He surrounds them with his providential care. By their mere existence they bless him and give him glory. Thus men owe them kindness. We should recall the gentleness with which saints like St. Francis of Assisi or St. Philip Neri treated animals.
2417 God entrusted animals to the stewardship of those whom he created in his own image. Hence it is legitimate to use animals for food and clothing. They may be domesticated to help man in his work and leisure. Medical and scientific experimentation on animals is a morally acceptable practice if it remains within reasonable limits and contributes to caring for or saving human lives.
2418 It is contrary to human dignity to cause animals to suffer or die needlessly. It is likewise unworthy to spend money on them that should as a priority go to the relief of human misery. One can love animals; one should not direct to them the affection due only to persons.
Please tune in to Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie on Monday at 9am Pacific or Noon Eastern…for this GREAT SHOW on pets! And Yes! This is a picture of “Grace” our Maltese taking it easy on a Sunday afternoon. She does feel that she owns the house. But with a face like that, how can one not let her rule, right?
Also, want to again thank all who called in to the show and shared from your heart different takes on topics…I literally have pages and pages of notes or I should say of your gifts of wisdom that you imparted to us. If you want to call in to the show and are concerned that you may sit on hold and not be able to hear the show in progress; be at peace, because while you are waiting your turn to be on the air…you are listening to the show. So you won’t miss anything! How cool is that?
Finally, deep heartfelt gratitude to all that shared their personal stories of losing a child. Your strength and faith to endure the pain has been an inspiration to all of us. My prayer is that may God continue to give you strength, peace and healing…plus an ability to find daily joy amidst the pain.
I personally feel we have a great community here at Take 2….you, us and the new friends we encounter each time the show airs! Let’s keep the conversation going but more importantly let’s ramp up prayers for all of our intentions! We are in this world together, THE BODY OF CHRIST.
Debbie
LISTEN
OK, so you don’t have a clue what our topic will be on Friday. Neither do I, more or less. But Debbie does. And, hey, if Debbie knows what we’re going to talk about, that’s good enough for me. Our topic will be “Mall People.” Are you one of them? Have you seen them? What characterizes them? Who are they? Have they come with special instructions to….well…tune in Friday to share your take about “Mall People!”

Thursday’s show will be both challenging and rewarding. We’ll talk about what it’s like when you lose a child, when one of your kids passes away. We can even discuss what you do when you “spiritually” lose a child, when one of your sons or daughters strays from the faith and places his or her soul in danger of eternal death. A very special blessing is planned for you. Jeff Burson, EWTN social media expert (who handles all the social media for our show), will join us to share what he went through when he lost his 20-year old daughter. If you’ve traveled this painful road, you will not want to miss this show. And, please, if you have experienced this, and it’s not too difficult for you to do so, please call with your take on this very important topic. You can’t imagine how many people you will impact by sharing your experience.
LISTEN TO THIS SHOW:
“Tony Tony let’s go!” is the comical line used to describe the close relationship some of us have to St. Anthony, the finder of lost things. Seriously though, many of us have said the prayer, Dear St. Anthony please come around, there’s something lost and must be found. Have you said that prayer? Do you believe that St Anthony helps people find things? Is asking St. Anthony to find things an act of devotion to this great saint? Today, we will look at this amazing saint and why so many of us call him our friend in Heaven.
