If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men. — St. Francis of Assisi
On Monday’s show Jerry and Debbie address facts and myths about the great saint – Saint Francis of Assisi. Did he create the first nativity scene? Did he really have the stigmata? Did he make peace with a wolf and save a town?

Acts 20:35 – In all this I have given you an example that by such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
This shares importance of coming out of yourself and giving to others. Do you give of your time to others? What are some of the ways you help those less fortunate?
On Fridays TAKE 2 With Jerry and Debbie we will talk about volunteering. Be sure to join in the conversation. Call – 1- 800-585-9396 or EMAIL: Take2@ewtn.com 12pm ET on EWTN Radio.

“And lead us not into temptation.” The Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraphs 2846-2849, talks all about being tempted. We know that scripture tells us about Jesus being tempted in the desert (Matthew 4:1-11) Temptation itself is not a sin. Yet, so many people struggle with this concept and allow themselves to fall into shame, guilt, etc by not fully understanding the Church’s teaching on this common issue that plagues all of us at some level. Let’s talk about it…Call in Wednesday to Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie at 1-800-585-9396. Share your experience! But call in early, phone lines fill up quickly…
On Tuesday, we’ll discuss the facts about gun ownership, the push for gun control, how much guns contribute to violent deaths and much more. Jerry and Debbie will be joined by EWTN’s Fr. Mitch Pacwa, himself an avid sportsman and hunter, who, of course, has his finger on the pulse of how Catholics should view this critical issue with an appropriate balance. Here’s a link to a great article on the subject by Pia de Solenni that appeared in EWTN’s National Catholic Register. Be sure to tune in Tuesday at Noon ET!
Being in ministry is a wonderful vocation in the church. However, it is imperative that we must fill ourselves first, take care of ourselves and be able to then give from our abundance rather than from our reserves. Ministry burnout is a common occurrence, but it can be prevented.
To be the best in ministry you can be, remember to make yourself a priority! Form yourself in the Faith, feed your soul…then you will be a “light” to others in the world of evangelization!
Join us Monday on Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie as we discuss church ministry in a whole new way. Share your “take” at 1-800-585-9396.
