Not Another Grey Hair!

T2-110518- gray-hair

This topic was suggested by a listener.  Let’s face it.  We are all going to get old and eventually die.  The grey hairs start coming in and wrinkles too.  The bones ache and muscles are sore.  We cannot do the things we once loved to do.  Growing old can make us cranky or we can be joyful in the process.  Where are you with aging gracefully?  Let’s talk about how we can embrace the stages of life and do so in a dignified manner.  Call us on Monday with your “take” on this topic.  1-833-288-3986.

Whom or What Are You Praying For?

On Friday, call with those special and beautiful prayer intentions that are on your heart. Yours could be a prayer of thanksgiving for God’s blessings in your life. Perhaps you know someone who is away from the faith. You may be asking the Lord for a healing, a new job, for a deeper prayer life, you name it. We’ll gather all of your prayer intentions – those that get on the air, and those that don’t – and will offer them all to our loving and gracious God at the end of the program and beyond. Be sure to call early, because this is one of our most popular shows!

Who Do You Know Who’s Closest to Being a Saint?

Obviously, we don’t canonize living people. Sometimes we will say that so-and-so is a “real saint.” But our goal in this life is indeed to become saints in the next life. Who do you know that exhibits a manner of living that shows a true attempt to grow in virtue and holiness – the very things that make certain people canonizable at their deaths? Again, this is not an exercise in canonizing anyone while they’re still living. Just a conversation where you get to share who it is in your life that models heroic virtue in a very real way. Join us and let’s talk about this on Thursday!

Preparing For And Avoiding Spiritual Dangers

Wednesday is Halloween to the world, and All Hollows Eve for the Church. To the former, it’s a time of revelry, giving candy and often engaging in spiritual activities that can be quite dangerous. To the latter, it is the evening before we commemorate the lives and examples of all the great saints who have gone before us. This time of year brings out the best and the worst in many of us. Of course, it’s not the only time of the year when spiritual dangers present themselves to us. They are always working to throw us off our walk with Jesus. Adam Blai, a religious demonologist will join Jerry and Debbie and field your questions about the spiritual realm and what we can do to avoid dangers and fortify ourselves for battle.

Never Say Never

T2- 103018 - never

Many times in life we can be burned by someone at work, home or sadly in the church.  We then say, this will never happen to me again.  We walk away from that person or even from the church, promising never to return.  Never say never is the saying that seems to ring true so many times in our lives.  Have you been in a place in your life with someone or something, where you thought this is it, never again will I feel this way, only to realize you were back with a whole new understanding and relationship? Interesting discussion and one that worthy of having on Tuesday’s show.  Call us at, 1-833-288-3986.

What Personality Trait Do You Wish You Had?

Kind, loving, outgoing, funny, easy to talk to?  These are just some traits that folks look up to and wish they could easily possess.  What personality trait do you wish you had? As long as you are still alive, there is always a chance to learn and cultivate a desired personality trait.  If you find that you talk more than listen, maybe you could practice with friends on how to be a good listener. Or possibly it is just the opposite, you may need to put yourself out there more. So then a public speaking group may be just the right answer. Many life exercises can be performed to enhance a personality trait.  You just have to be willing to learn and step out of your comfort zone in order to experience phenomenal growth. Call us on Monday and share your thoughts on this topic.    (1-833-288-EWTN)

Why Do We Suffer?

Suffering-man-.jpg

This topic was suggested by a loyal listener.  They wanted to know why there was so much suffering in this world.  If God is all good, why does He allow so much pain and misery?  They also wanted to know why it seems like some people are blessed and others have great hardships in their lives.  From their perspective, it appears that the good ones get punished more in this lifetime.  These were the questions/concerns this listener raised and they asked if we would open it up for our callers to weigh in with their takes.  Of course, we aim to please, so Thursday’s show is all about suffering.  Call in and share your experience and wisdom on this very important subject. 1-833-288-3986.

What Do You Think of Homemade Gifts?

A friend goes to all that trouble to make you a gift. The only problem is that you may not have room for it, or you really don’t like it. You can’t really re-gift such a present. So, now what? The guilt may set in because it may appear that you are ungrateful. Homemade gifts are the giver’s way of showing just how much they care. But it is not always received the same way. Let’s talk about this on Wednesday’s show.

Family Gatherings

T2- 102318 - family.jpg

We are asking the question on Tuesday’s show, do you like going to family gatherings? If so, tell us what is special about them for you.  If you absolutely dread getting together with family, we want to hear from you as well.  Families can be great but they can also be spiritually draining at times.  Your story can definitely be a help to others.  That is why it is important to share when you have an opportunity like this.  Not all families are the same.  Yes, there are those exceptional families that are fun, harmonious and tight-knit.  These families shine, no doubt.  But let’s face it, most of us belong to a family that carries with it challenges that we must encounter every time we come together.  Tell us your family story by calling, 1-833-288-3986.
