Respect for the Elderly

T2 Aug 29-elder

In the old days, families would take their aging parents in to live with them.  This is not the case today.  In fact, assisted living centers are literally popping up all over the country.  It is a need but it is also a huge money maker.  Let’s face it, no one will care for your aging mom or dad like you can.  But work, family, geography may prohibit the ability to do so.  Therefore we rely on strangers, the society, or even the government to take care of our elderly.  How do you think we are doing?  Are we treating our elderly with dignity and respect or are we just warehousing them until they pass.  This topic is a tough one but let’s tackle it together.  In addition to talking about the elderly, let’s also honor all the great caregivers, nurses and assistants that truly have a heart for this ministry. 1-833-288-3986.

Fear of Happiness

T2 Aug 29_happy-2

Do you resist being happy because you think it won’t last? Many times we are more at home with being miserable.  Life can bring great moments of happiness yet we may fear feeling the full effect because we know it just won’t last. Or worse, we feel we do not deserve happiness in this world.  Jesus said in John 10:10, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.  Scripture does not lie.  Having life to the full includes a sense of happiness.  Let’s talk about happiness in life and more on the next Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie. 1-833-288-3986

Loved One Who Left the Faith, Part II

It sometimes happens that you take a topic and run with it so much that we feel compelled to offer you a part two. That’s what we’re doing with Monday’s topic. On Tuesday, fill the phone lines again with your takes about loved ones who are away from a practice of the faith. Whether they’re still away, one their way back or have come home, we can learn a lot from each other, especially as it has to do with how we continue to love them, pray for them and gently nudge them back toward a love for the Church.

Children Who Have Left the Faith

T2 Aug 26-left-fatih

The number 1 prayer intention is for children to come back to the Faith.  Parents and grandparents are aching over this sad reality.  We want the best for our children and that includes the Catholic Faith.  But our children and grandchildren have minds of their own and they have intentionally walked away from the Church.  We pray, we talk, we yell, we cry but it simply doesn’t seem to move them closer to Catholicism.  What are we left to do?  How are we supposed to feel?  We want our children in heaven someday God-willing with us.  It is a parents and grandparents worst nightmare to helplessly watch their loved ones go astray.  Let’s talk about how we can support one another and bring our children back to God. 1-833-288-3986

Do you have a Christian Support System?

T2 Aug 5--support (3)

It is very important for everyone to have a strong Christian support system.  Whether that be spiritual direction or just like-minded friends in the faith.  Christians need to bounce things off of folks that can help them spiritually and that have the same understanding of the faith.  When a support system is absent, Christians tend to feel alone in their journey of faith and can waiver or even fall off the path.  We are meant for community.  We are the Body of Christ and we should support one another on the road to holiness and ultimately to God.  Call us and share how you found your Christian support system.  1-833-288-3986

Are You An Overachiever Or an Underachiever?

Almost every day of our lives, we face situations where we have to “perform” in some way. These opportunities range from the home to our academic environment, from the workplace to the gym or athletic arena. While all of us are created equal in dignity, we’re not all equal when it comes to how well we fare in these areas. We may be more motivated to do certain things well, and other things less well. Of course, we should give our all, no matter what it is that we undertake. As you examine your life, would you say you are generally an overachiever, gaining results beyond what your apparent abilities would indicate, or have you at times been an underachiever in certain endeavors? There are no right or wrong answers, just a chance for us to discuss how to strive to be our best selves in everything we do. Join us with your take on Thursday.

Do You Want To Grow?

T2 Aug 21-grow.jpg

Sometimes people are afraid to grow.  They think by staying the same they can control their lives and their future.  Growth is essential both personally and more so spiritually.  We must embrace challenges as an opportunity to expand, evolve and mature ourselves, thus making us more pleasing to God.  Challenges can produce rapid growth that allows one to witness better with regards to faith.  Let’s talk about how we have all been faced with challenges in life and what the outcome was for us and for others.  Call in early to the show at, 1-833-288-3986.
