This is our special LIVE broadcast from the LA Religious Education Congress in Anaheim, California. This event is the largest annual gathering of its kind in the world. It is pretty exciting to see tens of thousands of folks involved in ministry. So please join us, by calling in and sharing your ‘take’ on the topic. We are talking about the fact that sometimes in life we simply get stuck. Life throws us so many challenges and curve balls that it can leave us somewhat immobilized. We can lose the ability to move forward and make progress in life. In fact, often times it can feel like we are in essence moving backwards in life. We want to know on this special Saturday broadcast what has worked for you to get “unstuck” in life. Help others by sharing your own journey and you will certainly be building up the Body of Christ. 1-833-288-3986

Inaccurate Perceptions

Has this ever happened to you? You meet someone who doesn’t look you in the eye and barely gives you a handshake? Or you witness someone who is loud, obnoxious and needs to be the center of attention? Many factors can influence first impressions. Even the way a person dresses or looks can leave an impact on how you initially feel about them. But, have you ever been wrong with your first impressions of someone? Maybe you found out later that this particular person you had formed an opinion of is actually quiet different than you thought. You may find out you admire, respect and genuinely like this person. How could you have been so wrong about them? Well, it happens all the time in business and in social settings. People form inaccurate perceptions of others on a routine basis. Seems we have forgotten the practice of reserving judgment until all the facts are in. Plus, with the help of social media, we can destroy a person’s reputation and character in an instant. Let’s talk about this important topic and see how we can strive to be more Christian in our interactions with others. Call in with your experience of this. 1-833-288-3986
Part Two
See the show description for Wednesday. The response was so good that we are going to do a part two on Thursday. Please join us with your takes!

Catholicism and the LGBTQ Community
Wednesday’s topic was suggested by a longtime regular listener who has a same-sex attraction. He shared with us how, because of his intention to live in conformity to his Catholic faith, he is often shunned or considered a bigot. Here’s how he worded his e-mail:
“How LGBTQ Catholics who have chosen to be chaste feel shunned by the rest of the community. I know that if I make a comment, because of my beliefs, I’m usually the first to be called a bigot or shunned.”
Paragraph 2358 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church makes it clear that the utmost respect should be given to the personal worth and dignity of persons with a same-sex attraction. It states:
“The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. They do not choose their homosexual condition; for most of them it is a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unity to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
Let’s have a candid conversation about this issue, especially if you – or someone you love – experiences a same-sex attraction. How can we present the teachings of the Church in a manner that will be persuasive to those who may look down upon individuals who want to remain chaste while living with a same-sex attraction? Join us with your thoughts.

“God, I Need You Know!”

Tuesday’s show is dedicated entirely to urgent prayer requests. We try to move very quickly and get in as many intentions as possible. At the end of the show we will offer a prayer and storm heaven together as a Take 2 family. Please call in with your urgent need for prayer. 1-833-288-3986
The World Needs Christian Heroes

On Monday’s show which happens to be President’s Day, we felt it was important to talk about Christian heroes. This world is in desperate need of heroes. Can you really stop and think of a present day Christian hero? Maybe you are blessed and even have one in your family or community. Yet for most of us, we have to think back to Mother Teresa, John Paul II, or Fulton Sheen. Something is wrong with this picture. Let’s see what comes out of this discussion and just maybe it will inspire others to rise up and be the strong, honest Christian leaders this world is waiting for. Call in and share who you think is a Christian hero and why…1-833-288-3986
Rekindled Love

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we are talking about love on Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie. Relationships can be hard, rocky and sometimes painful. Love can slip away but there are those stories of rekindled love. The stories of love found again after many years of being apart or hurt by a relationship. Please call in and share your story of rediscovering love again with that special someone. Tell us if prayer and patience were part of your journey to find love again. Call us at 1-833-288-3986.
Do You Know Anyone Who Thinks They’re Smarter Than God?
On Thursday, Jerry and Debbie will present a rather intriguing question for you to run with: Do you know anyone who thinks they’re smarter than God? What exactly do we mean? Well, for instance, those who say they don’t believe in God and are better for it. Or those who may believe in God, but say they would do things differently than He does. This could be a very lively and impactful conversation. Be sure to tune in and call in!

How Many Times a Day Do You Think of God?
Hebrews 12:2 exhorts us to fix our eyes on Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 directs us to pray without ceasing. Do verses like this imply that we should have God on our minds 24/7? On Wednesday, join Jerry and Debbie and share your take on how mindful you are of God throughout your day. While it may not be possible to be thinking about Him at every moment, we can still direct our attention toward heaven countless times each day. We look forward to your take on this question on our next broadcast.

“I’ve Been Healed!”
There is a tremendous amount of pain and suffering in the world. Almost no one is immune from it, whether it is you going through it, or someone you love. If Jesus is anything, He’s a healer. Yep, He’s still in the healing “business.” Have you turned to Him in your time of need? Did you get the healing you so badly wanted or needed? If so, on Tuesday let’s all be like the one leper who returned to Jesus after He healed all ten of them, and tell the world how grateful we are for what the Lord has done for us. And, remember, healings come in all types – physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, financial, etc. So, no matter how God has come to your aid, please join us and share it with the world.
