Monday Morning First Thoughts

T2 -091718 -start -week.jpg

Sunday is over, Monday begins, so are your first thoughts still about God or are they about work, school, etc? It is a common thing for us to leave God on Sundays and go on with our schedules during the week. Maybe that is why there is minimal Mass attendance on Mondays.  Let’s talk about this and see if we can look at Mondays in a different light. Remember, scripture tells us to give God our first fruits, not just money and resources but our thoughts and time.  God does not need us, we need Him. If we leave God behind when Sunday is over, what does that say about our relationship with Him? We are made to be in union with God and deepening that bond during the week would naturally prove to be beneficial for our spiritual life here on earth and ultimately for eternity. Share with us how you start your Mondays. 1-833-288-3986

Youth Ministry is Alive

T2 -091118 - youth

This is the time of year when folks are signing their kids up for youth groups, activities and retreats. Quite a few parishes have vibrant and flourishing youth ministry programs.  There are numerous teens that fully enjoy attending regular sessions to be with their peers and talk about/learn about the Faith.  Sadly though, due to budget issues, many parishes have trimmed down the youth ministry programs and thereby reducing activities for teens to participate in.  Let’s talk about how we can build up the programs and get involved so that our teens will want to attend more often and even bring their friends. Call us and share what is happening at your parish. 1-833-288-3986.

Can You Really Shut Things Down?

T2 -083118 -obligations

We’re heading into a long holiday weekend. Some of us will have to work to make a living, so it’s not really a “holiday” weekend. Most of us who work weekdays will have Monday off, making it an ideal opportunity to unplug, spend time with family and friends and recharge our batteries. But in today’s over-stimulated world, so many people find it hard to shut down and stay away from the things that occupy us in our normal workaday routines. How does this work for you? Are you able to set things aside for three days? Or do you find yourself reaching for your computer, watching e-mail on your phone, conducting business, etc? Share with us if you are really able and willing to shut it down for a while, at least for 3 days. 1-833-288-3986.

60 Minutes and Counting…

T2 -082718 -one-hour

We have done a similar exercise before about the last day of your life, but what if you were only given one hour and then you knew your time was up on this earth. 60 minutes can go pretty fast, so how would you respond?  Interesting thought and not terribly far-fetched, because people get into accidents all the time and die soon after. So join us in this exercise and imagine you were told that you had one hour left to live and then you will finally meet the Lord.  What would be your first thoughts?  Who would you contact?  How would you react?  We are not guaranteed the future, so maybe this exercise will allow all of us to appreciate the present moment and be  more prepared from now on.  Call us at 1-833-288-3986.

Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall…

T2 -082118 -mirror

Many of us struggle with looking at ourselves in the mirror.  We see the flaws that really no one else notices but we are certain that they are visible.  We become our own worst enemy. We may think others are judging us but maybe they aren’t even giving it a thought.  Life is hard enough and when we create our own obstacles for ourselves, it can almost be unbearable at times. We are created in the image and likeness of God, but do we genuinely recognize that when we look into the mirror? Let’s have a candid discussion about this and get to the root of self-image issues.  Call us, 1-833-288-3986.

Time To Say Goodbye

T2 -082018 -You Say Goodbye

It’s virtually impossible to be friends with everyone.  Plus, not all relationships are healthy for our spiritual life.  Is it ok to politely say goodbye to a friendship and maybe just keep them in our prayers?  Or should we try to convert them to our way of thinking and the faith? When is the right time to just say goodbye? Let’s talk about this scenario that most of us have encountered in our lives.  Friendships are hard to let go of and they can also be quite painful if we choose to stay in an unhealthy one.  What should we do as Christians?  Call in with your experience of this kind of dilemma. 1-833-288-3986.

My Faith Is Not Embraced By My Family

T2 -081418 -family-faith.jpg.

Can you relate to this? You are a Catholic Christian and your family is either non- religious, fallen away Catholic, or of another denomination that does not think kindly of Catholics.  Therefore, you are unable to openly express your faith or even live out your faith without be subjected to constant ridicule.  Family members can be the toughest, and they certainly don’t welcome any form of preaching, especially from a Catholic.  This situation leaves you voiceless in a family that is supposed to be supportive.  A very frustrating position to be in, but one that many of us find ourselves living in.  Call us with your story, 1-833-288-3986.

Good article for those wondering if they can attend a wedding of a baptized Catholic outside the Catholic Church.

Share with us your 5 year plan

T2 -081018 -5years (1).jpg

AUDIO ARCHIVE::

This topic was inspired by one of our listeners going through stage 4 cancer.  Her doctors keep asking her where she sees herself in 5 years.  So many times when one is going through a major health crisis, the last thing they are thinking about is 5 years ahead.  Yet, it has been found that part of healing is this idea of envisioning a brighter future. Therefore it is good to plan ahead, dream big and see yourself in 5 years.  It can be a healthy exercise.  If someone were to ask you…Where do you see yourself in 5 years or what is your 5 year plan?  How would you answer?  Maybe you want to be in top physical shape, graduate college, or move to another part of the country or world.  Life can be adventurous when we embrace the present moment, but look ahead to exciting things.  Share with us your 5 year plan by calling, 1-833-288-3986.

To Compliment or Criticize?

T2 -080718 -critic.jpg

It is so easy in today’s world to find the things that are going wrong in situations, relationships, etc.  We know how to criticize, but do we really understand the powerful healing effects of complimenting? Let’s take inventory of our lives and see if we tend to be more complimentary or critical in our everyday behavior.  Then let’s challenge one another to begin to compliment first before being ready to impart a criticism. This life exercise can be very beneficial in all our interpersonal relationships, plus it really is more Christ-like. Call us with your take on this topic, 1-833-288-3986.
