Take 2 with Jerry & Debbie

On Tuesday’s Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie, we will talk about the power of the Most Holy Rosary.  October is Rosary month and we should be sharing all the wonderful things about the Most Holy Rosary so that folks will start regularly praying it.  Padre Pio once said: Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother.  Love the Madonna and pray the Rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. Very powerful indeed!  Also on Tuesday, we will be conducting our monthly webinar with our special guest, Fr. Donald Calloway who will speaking about St. Joseph and about the Rosary.  Info about the webinar is at jerryanddebbie.com.

For some time now, Jerry and Debbie have offered a monthly show dedicated to taking your prayer intentions. It is always among our most impactful shows. We regularly receive e-mail from people who have urgent and time-sensitive intentions. So, we decided to offer an episode for those of you to call in who need prayers “right now.” On Monday, we’ll take your 911 prayer requests and offer them all to the Lord for His prompt replies.

Many people follow a Monday through Friday “work week.” Of course, many do not. For those who do, the weekend represents a couple of days to recharge your batteries, get important tasks done, go to Mass, get out of town and do something fun, etc. Even those whose work week is not Monday through Friday have their own “weekends.” Do you get excited as the weekend approaches? How do you make the best use of the time off from work? Perhaps you find weekends difficult, and can’t wait to get back into the weekday routine? As this weekend approaches, let’s have a lively discussion about this on Friday.

On Thursday, Jerry and Debbie want you to take all of us “back to school.” Throughout our lives, we’ve all had dozens of teachers, instructors, mentors, professors. They each have had their unique impact on our lives, hopefully all for the better. As you look back, can you point to one of them who was especially helpful in forming you into the person you are today? It could be a tough choice, but let’s all weigh in on this and honor the teacher who had the biggest impact on our lives.

St. Teresa of Calcutta often said, “Faithfulness, not success.” Our duty is to be faithful to whatever God calls us to do in life. Along the way, we are going to meet failure, sometimes in small things, sometimes in big things. This is simply inevitable. It’s what we do with life’s failures that counts. Have you learned from your failures? Have you become a better person because of them? Have they made you more determined to do your very best, in spite of the outcome? On Wednesday, let’s talk about how failure can be a catalyst for becoming the best version of ourselves.

Monday’s show proved to be yet another one where we couldn’t get to nearly all of the callers. So, we will be doing a second part of our discussion of losing a loved one to suicide on Tuesday. Let’s all be in prayer for those who have chosen that action, and for the loved ones they left behind.

Tragically, suicide seems to be increasing in the world today, and it’s impacting people of all demographics. When someone dies by suicide, they leave behind unanswered questions, great sadness and often tremendous feelings of guilt over what might have been done to prevent it from happening. On Monday, let’s talk about this, and please call if you feel at all haunted by someone’s suicide. As we always say, we’re not trained therapists. But we all know someone who has died in this manner. So, hopefully, we can emerge from this conversation with a greater sense of hope and purpose going forward.

A saying that has been attributed to St. Francis – though some sources claim he never said it – is, “Preach the Gospel at all times, and use words if necessary.” Whether one of the world’s most popular saints ever uttered those words or not, we can still learn from them. What do you know about St. Francis? How has he inspired you to live your faith, to love God, to promote peace among all men? Let us hear from you on our last live broadcast of the week on Friday!

Life has its ups and downs. Many challenges. Times when we really need the prayers and spiritual comfort and consolation of family and friends. A lot of us enlist the daily prayers of a priest, a monastery or a convent. Many parishes have a prayer chain. Perhaps you know someone who is a real prayer warrior. Those can all be powerful supports for us in daily life. On Thursday, let’s talk about how we get spiritual support.

October 2nd is the Feast of the Guardian Angels.  God has assigned each and every one of us a guardian angel to guard and guide us.  Psalm 91 affirms that for us.  So, what kind of relationship do you have with your guardian angel?  Do you ask them for help only when you are in danger?  Or maybe you are more like Padre Pio and you acknowledge your guardian angel on a regular basis.  Let’s talk about guardian angels and the role they play in your lives on Wednesday’s Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie.  Call in and share. 1-833-288-3986
