As our bishops and many others have said, we must show compassion and assist those truly in need in any way we can. As has also been pointed out – including in the attached article by William Kilpatrick that was recently published in The National Catholic Register – prudence and caution must be exercised when overseeing the reception of refugees into a country. While it may not be the fault of legitimate refugees, they’re very often accompanied by those who could pose a threat to a country’s national security.
