Government without virtue is just tyranny
Medicine without virtue is just physical abuse
Religion without virtue is just Satan’s playground
Psychology without virtue is just manipulation
Relationship without virtue is just control
Beauty without virtue is just a trap

In today’s world, it’s easier and more important than ever to stay connected. Many of the technological developments of our time are simply amazing. Yet, a growing number of people feel “anxious” when their phone, tablet or computer aren’t within easy reach. Others find themselves feeling “obligated” to communicate with friends and colleagues almost constantly through e-mail and social media. Becoming uncomfortable without one’s cell phone in hand has even acquired a name – “nomophobia,” or “no mobile phone phobia.” One reports states that it afflicts nearly two thirds of mobile phone users. On Monday, share your take with Jerry and Debbie and the world on how this affects you – if it does at all, and what steps you may have implemented in your life to keep the importance of your gadgets in proper perspective. The show airs at Noon and Midnight EWTN.

Depending on where you live, the average lifespan for a male is between 75-80 years. A large number of men will experience what is often referred to as a midlife crisis. It’s estimated that this will happen – if it does at all – to a man between the ages of 35 and 50 (give or take). It’s when a guy thinks he’s reached life’s “halfway” point, and is frequently marked by thoughts of having not accomplished much in life, loss or diminishment of his once-robust physical and/or mental abilities, perhaps a failed marriage or friendships, etc. On Wednesday, we’re calling out for your takes on this. Men, let us hear from you. And, ladies, you’re welcome to join the conversation, too, if you know a male who has struggled with this phenomenon. We’re live at Noon ET, with a replay at Midnight ET.

Everyone makes mistakes. For many people, those bad decisions include going down a wrong path and abandoning chastity and purity at some point in their lives. Thankfully, a lot of those people “wake up” to the fact that living a life of promiscuity will not ultimately bring them happiness. They may have a conversion – or a reversion – to faith in Christ and the Church, and learn to live by self-control, embracing purity and chastity. This is a beautiful transformation in a person’s life. Such an individual can be a powerful witness to help others avoid making the same mistakes. Still, challenges sometimes arise. For example, parents at times feel that their authority to instruct their kids to remain pure has been compromised by their own promiscuous past. Lots to talk about – as always, with your great takes – on Wednesday’s Take 2 With Jerry and Debbie, at Noon and Midnight ET on EWTN Radio.

A major athlete commits a crime. He misses a few games. Someone else commits the same act and finds himself in prison. Stories are emerging now that some merchants are charging women more than men for the same products and services. Too many times bosses in the workplace favor certain employees over others when it comes to performance and advancement. The list could go on and on. Call Jerry and Debbie on Tuesday and share your take on where you see double standards applied in life.

Playing the Lottery seems harmless with just a few dollars spent. It has been said that even daydreaming about winning the lottery, can make a person physically feel better and happier. So is there really harm in partaking in weekly lotteries? What if the few dollars you spent on lotteries could be used for your household maintenance? Then, there is the question of what if you actually do win a jackpot? Statistics have also shown that people are unable to handle the instant fame and wealth. There is a lot to discuss today and many angles we can approach this lottery craze…So call in at 1-800-585-9396.

God is the author of all life. Every life is sacred. But we live in a world that degrades human life more and more as time passes. It’s often referred to as the “Culture of Death.” Of course, there are countless efforts to protect human life – on the spiritual, intellectual, moral and legal levels. Does it seem to you that we have made progress in recent years? Or do you feel that those who support life at all stages are spinning our wheels? Share your take on Thursday at Noon ET, with a re-airing at Midnight ET!

As we go through our day-to-day routine, there are often many opportunities to go out of our way to save a few cents. Perhaps even a few dollars. In the name of frugality and stewardship, there’s certainly merit to doing that. At other times, we may just shrug our shoulders and deal with a higher priced product or service. How far would you go to save, say, 10 cents on a gallon of gas? Or a couple dollars off a meal? What about $100 off something like a household appliance? You may be asking what this has to do with the spiritual life. Well, we think we have a few ideas, and we’ll share them – along with your takes – on Tuesday’s show!
