You are never alone!

alone

Jesus is always with us.  Our Blessed Mother is praying for us. The saints are standing by ready to intercede for us.  Plus, our great God gave each of us our own personal companion (Psalm 91) to guard us and guide us all the days of our lives.  So, we are never alone, even though sometimes we feel abandoned.  Let’s talk about how we can come to the realization that Heaven is rooting for us and is very active in our lives.  Call in at 1-800-585-9396.

A Father’s Love

Knowing the love of God the Father, and translating that into being a loving father to one’s children, is so very important. It becomes much harder when one’s early life was filled with traumas and abuse. On Wednesday, Jerry and Debbie welcome Catholic speaker and permanent deacon candidate John Sablan to the program. John has spent his life digging out from under the wreckage created by some of those who were supposed to love and nurture him into manhood and fatherhood. Through God’s grace and healing, John is now on fire for helping others know “a father’s love.” You don’t want to miss this episode at Noon ET, with a reply at Midnight ET.

Family Catechesis

Fam-catechesis

“The family that prayers together stays together.”  Faith formation in the family, enables each member to grow spiritually within a safe environment.  The family unit is the perfect setting to explore the tenets of the Faith and to foster a rich prayer life.  So many times families abdicate their role as catechists and depend on the church’s religious education program to fulfill all their needs.  This is a missed opportunity.  The religious education programs are designed to complement what the parents or families are already practicing by way of religious formation.  Not the other way around.  Share your wisdom on this very important topic by calling, 1-800-585-9396.

Are You Having Trouble Finding a Job?

Being unemployed is a big challenge for many people, especially if you have a mortgage or rent to pay and mouths to feed. As we discussed on our August 17 show, the Church’s social justice teachings include the right of every person to productive and gainful employment. But that depends a lot on economic realities and other factors. Are you out of work and looking everywhere you can for a job? How has it impacted you and your family? Join Jerry and Debbie for this important discussion on Monday at Noon ET, with a reply at Midnight ET, only on EWTN Radio.

Pokémon Stop!

pika-pika-matt-t2

The Pokémon Craze is sweeping the nation.  On Take 2, we will talk about this phenomenon.  Is Pokémon Go a good thing for people, or is it harmful?  We have heard of accidents already, even a death.  But maybe, just maybe, Pokémon is an instrument for evangelization.  Remember, on Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie, we take a fresh look, a new look at topics that we are all exposed to.  Join the conversation by calling 1-800-585-9396.

New clothes, new supplies, even a new backpack reminds us that with every new school year there is a fresh start and new beginnings.  These amazing moments in life can bring forth a host of blessings and spiritual growth. Yet, when we are caught up in the hustle and bustle of getting prepared for the school year, we may just miss these spiritual gems that are awaiting us.  Let’s talk about how back to school time in the families can help us on our path to holiness.  Wow! That could be a stretch, or is it?  Your turn to share by calling in at: 1-800-585-9396.

A Family Divided

family-torn-t2

It is all too common these days to hear of rifts in a family.  Whether the division is in the immediate or extended family, the result is the same.  It is painful on many levels.  Family is supposed to be closely united, with harmonious relations, topped off with peace and joy. Today, that is just not the case.  So how do we cope with this reality in the family?  Do we try to be an instrument of change?  Or do we run away to protect ourselves?  As Catholic Christians, how are we to respond to a family torn apart?  Share your experience with this type of situation within the family.  Call in early at 1-800-585-9396.

What’s This Thing Called “Social Justice?”

The Catholic Church has always led the way in promoting justice for all human beings. Without justice, there can be no peace. Where there is injustice, there will always – at least eventually – be unrest and chaos. But what does the body of the Church’s social justice doctrine consist of? The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops list on their website seven key themes:

  • Life and Dignity of the Human Person
  • Call to Family, Community and Participation
  • Human Rights and Responsibilities
  • An Option for the Poor and Vulnerable
  • The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers
  • Human Solidarity
  • Care for God’s Creation

Join Jerry and Debbie on Tuesday for a look at these important areas of human life and social justice.

Rediscovering the Rosary

Monday is the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary into Heaven. One of our greatest spiritual weapons is the Rosary. The key is to meditate as much as possible on the mysteries that are reflected in the prayers. Fr. Edward Looney, a priest of the Diocese of Green Bay, has authored a book of reflections that are sure to help you penetrate more deeply into these beautiful mysteries. It’s called A Rosary Litany. It’s filled with short meditations (each one just a few words) that you insert into the prayers of the Rosary to help the mysteries come alive. Don’t miss this episode with Jerry and Debbie.

You can learn about getting a copy of Fr. Edward Looney’s book at https://arosarylitany.com.
