On Tuesday, Jerry and Debbie will field your takes on the current wave of refugees being taken in by numerous countries around the world. As our bishops and many others have said, we must show compassion and assist those truly in need in any way we can. As has also been pointed out – including in the attached article by William Kilpatrick that was recently published in The National Catholic Register – prudence and caution must be exercised when overseeing the reception of refugees into a country. While it may not be the fault of legitimate refugees, they’re very often accompanied by those who could pose a threat to a country’s national security.
