Young, Catholic, Married and…Faithful?

More and more young Catholics are rediscovering the beauty of the Church’s teaching regarding marriage and family life. That’s the good news. The bad news is that they’re marrying and raising young families in the midst of a culture that not only gives them little support in doing so faithfully, but throws all sorts of challenges in their paths. If you’re recently married and trying to live your Catholic faith in a way that will make a difference in the world around you, Jerry and Debbie want to hear from you on Wednesday. Call with your takes at Noon ET (with a reply at Midnight ET)!

Same-Sex Friendships

Much is made – and rightly so – about the need for individuals with a same-sex attraction to live chastely and in accordance with natural law and the teachings of the Church. Just what are the boundaries that should be followed by those with a same-sex attraction who wish to do just that? On Friday, Jerry and Debbie welcome Fr. Paul Check to the program. He is the director of Courage, an outreach that assists Catholics with a same-sex attraction who wish to be faithful to the Church’s teachings. Join us at Noon ET (or catch the encore at Midnight ET if you miss the live show)!

Are You Someone Who Hesitates Too Often?

In all of our decisions, we should exercise prayer and prudence. You know the saying: Fools rush in. But there’s another side to that coin. Many of us find ourselves hesitating to the point of never taking appropriate action. Or we finally act when it’s too late. Does this apply to you? If so, share your take with Jerry and Debbie – and the world – on Thursday at Noon ET. The show re-airs at Midnight ET on the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network.

Refugees, Threat or Both?

On Tuesday, Jerry and Debbie will field your takes on the current wave of refugees being taken in by numerous countries around the world. As our bishops and many others have said, we must show compassion and assist those truly in need in any way we can. As has also been pointed out – including in the attached article by William Kilpatrick that was recently published in The National Catholic Register – prudence and caution must be exercised when overseeing the reception of refugees into a country. While it may not be the fault of legitimate refugees, they’re very often accompanied by those who could pose a threat to a country’s national security. Don’t miss this important conversation at Noon and Midnight ET.

Stepfathers

stepfather-monday

Today on Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie, we will be talking about what it means to be a stepfather.  Are you a stepdad?  Did you have a stepdad?  What was your experience being or having a stepfather?

It does take a special person to love another man’s child.  With the increasing number of blended families occurring in the United States, stepfathers are now a familiar and vital part of the family unit.  We want and need to hear from you on what it means to be a stepfather.  Also, give us ideas on what we can do to support stepfathers in our neighborhood communities.

Call in early at 1-800-585-9396
