Have a Blessed Triduum and Happy Easter!

Jerry and Debbie will not be hosting live shows Thursday and Friday, as EWTN will preempt their show for Holy Week coverage from Rome and elsewhere. All of us at Take 2 With Jerry and Debbie want to wish you and your loved ones a most holy Triduum and abundant joy as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the savior of the world! Please remember us in prayer during the coming days. And know that all of us will be holding you up before our merciful Father as well. God bless you!

Have You Been Scandalized By Someone in the Church?

On Wednesday – our last live broadcast before Easter – Jerry and Debbie invite your takes on if or when you’ve had your faith rattled by the words or actions of someone in the Church. Realizing that we are all fallen human beings, it’s still extremely unfortunate when a fellow believer – whether a layperson or a member of the clergy – says or does something to scandalize other members of the Church. Many fallen-away Catholics will claim that it was just such an experience that led them to leave the Church. We pray that a civil discussion of this sensitive issue will lead us all back to the critical truth that in the end there is ultimately never a justifiable objective reason to walk away from the Church founded by Christ Himself. Tune in and call with your takes at Noon ET (with a replay at Midnight ET).

What Did the Reformers “Reform?”

Next year marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. Some have called it a “revolt” against the Church that Jesus founded. Others claim that many things were indeed in need of reform. On Monday, Jerry and Debbie will discuss this issue and field your takes on the subject. If you have an interest in this topic, or you’re a Protestant who listens to the show, or someone who converted to Catholicism, you’ll find the conversation enlightening and informative. Join us at Noon and Midnight ET.

What Was Your First Job?

In honor of the Feast of St. Joseph on Saturday, Take 2 With Jerry and Debbie will ask for your takes on Friday’s show about your very first job. St. Joseph is the patron of workers, and we know from Church teaching that labor is one of the very important aspects of human life and dignity. Do you remember your first job? What were you doing? How much did you get paid? Have you established a career in the field of your first job? How does – or did – working for a living bring you closer to God. That’s Friday at Noon and Midnight ET on EWTN Radio!

Is The Faith in Ireland Still Strong?

For centuries the words “Irish” and “Catholic” were synonymous. In recent years, we’ve heard about the troubling loss of faith among many on the Emerald Isle. Of course, that mirrors what is happening in many nations where the Catholic faith was once taken for granted as the key to everyday life. On Thursday, Kathy Sinnott joins Debbie (Jerry is away hosting a Catholic radio pledge drive through Friday) to talk about Irish Catholicism. You won’t want to miss it – Noon and Midnight ET!

Have You Ever Called In Sick to Watch March Madness?

OK, it’s time to get real on Take 2 With Jerry and Debbie. On Monday, we want your takes – and honesty – about whether you’ve ever taken time off from work for any reason (including calling in sick) to watch NCAA Tournament basketball games (or other sporting events). Statistics show that “lost productivity” in the workforce during March Madness costs corporations close to $2 billion annually. At the same time, some advocates are encouraging those same businesses to put the games on TV in the office, so that people can still work while keeping one eye on the scores. Good idea? Bad idea? At the heart of this question is what we make a priority in our lives. Make no mistake, the NCAA and its marketing geniuses have created a “product” that virtually everyone loves this time of year, including those who aren’t necessarily avid hoops fans. Join us Monday at Noon and Midnight ET.
