Jesus Is a Big Boy

Scripture tells us that God will never allow us to be tested beyond our ability to handle whatever it is that we go through in life. In the darkest trials you’ve ever faced, have you wanted to – or actually – given Jesus a piece of your mind? Many people would find the mere thought of doing that very inappropriate. Yet, what does God want more than anything? A personal relationship with each and every one of us. In our personal relationships with family and friends, moments arise when we just have to express the fact that we don’t like a certain situation or set of circumstances. Are we free to do the same with God? Share your take on this topic Thursday at Noon ET, with a replay at Midnight ET.

Teen Depression and Suicide

Today, Jerry and Debbie welcome Luke Maxwell to the program. Three years ago in December, Luke hopped in the family van, accelerated to 60 mph and drove head on into another vehicle. He wanted to be dead. Miraculously, both drivers came away with very minor injuries. Just as amazingly, they met and became friends, teaming up to spread the message that there is hope for teens who are experiencing depression and who want to end their lives. Don’t miss today’s show at Noon ET, with a replay at Midnight ET, on EWTN Radio!

Tough Love is Real Love…at times

Join us today as we discuss the use of tough love.  Share with us when you had to show tough love or you had received tough love.  Is tough love, real love in certain situations?  As Catholic Christians, are we called to show tough love for the betterment of the soul of another?  Can tough love save a life?  Or has tough love been used unnecessarily and caused more harm than good?  Let’s talk about it.

How Often Do You “Get Away?”

In Mark 6:31, Jesus tells his apostles to come with Him to a quiet place and rest a while. Jesus Himself often took time away from his active ministry to spend time praying and getting refreshed. These should serve as examples for all of us. It’s important to shut it down once in a while and recharge our spiritual batteries. But in today’s hustle-and-bustle world it’s easy to justify not making a retreat, attending a parish mission or going on a pilgrimage. Will the world stop turning if we hit the pause button? Share your take on this topic on Friday at Noon ET!
