With Age Comes Experience and Wisdom

life_exp_t2

Every year of life brings forth new experiences, knowledge and wisdom. Mature adults have seen it all, maybe done it all, and hopefully gained a better understanding of life. We can be the beneficiaries of those that have lived a full life. We just need to give our elders the platform to share their insights on the meaning of life. Wednesday’s Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie is asking all our older/wiser audience to share their takes on what was their most profound experiences of their life journey thus far, i.e. what they have learned over the course of a life filled with high’s and low’s, difficulties and triumphs. This should be an enlightening discussion for all, and will undoubtedly teach us all some important lessons. You may want to set aside the hour and tune in or call in at 1-800-585-9396.

Keep On Truckin’

Occasionally, truck drivers call the show to share a take on a particular topic. On Tuesday, Jerry and Debbie want to hear from those of you who spend a great deal of your lives on the road, transporting and delivering many of the goods that improve our quality of life. Many of you pass long hours and days behind the wheel, stuck in traffic and sleeping in the cabs of your trucks. Those long hours on the road give you time to think, pray and reflect on the important things of life (time that is not always afforded to the rest of us who are always running here, running there). So, if you’re an over-the-road truck driver, call and share your experience!

Have you ever felt like a hypocrite, or worse, called one?

Hypocrite_2.jpg

You go to Mass weekly, try to be a good Catholic, but the gossip at the water cooler at work is just too easy to partake in.  Does that make you a hypocrite?  Maybe you have even been called a hypocrite, yet in your heart you know you are trying your hardest to know, love and serve God.  This can be a fascinating discussion but we need your input.  Please call and share your experience at 1-800-585-9396.

Kids in Ministry

kids_service_2016.jpg

Our children are the future of our Church.  That is why it is important and good for their own spiritual development for them to become active in ministry at an early age.  Whether it is Altar Serving, Vacation Bible School, or volunteering in some capacity with a church program, such as the food bank, our kids do make a difference by their acts of service.   Also, they are examples of true disciples, learning, growing and serving in the Faith.  What kinds of service do your kids perform?  Hey kids, call in and share why you love being active in the church.  1-800-585-9396.

Here’s a link to an article on the mural (Debbie was speaking of…) at St Timothy’s

Self-Fulfilling Prophecies

Life is filled with worries, even though Jesus advises us not to be concerned and to trust completely in Him. There are even times when we fear certain things are going to happen – even though there is no concrete reason to think they will – and those fears become realized. Is that a matter of worrying our way to difficulties or challenges? Do our thoughts sometimes influence our actions such that we actually help to bring about the things we irrationally fear? Let’s talk about these self-fulfilling prophecies on Monday with Jerry and Debbie at Noon ET.

J&D Unscripted

unscripted_2016

Back by popular demand, Unscripted this Friday is our show for the entire hour.  This is a great chance to bring up whatever, within reason of course, that is on your mind and heart.  We will have a candid discussion and let’s see where the Holy Spirit takes it.  Also, this show is the perfect time to make suggestions for future show topics, revisit past issues we have covered, or even to express how you felt about all the powerful calls that came in this past month.  We hope to do Unscripted once a month so that our listeners feel intimately connected with us and the Take 2 family.  Join in on the fun by calling, 1-800-585-9396.
