Special Needs, Part II

Wednesday’s show on living with or working with people who have special needs was truly a special program. So many great calls, stories, testimonies of beautiful people and those who love them. The phone lines were full at the end of the show, so we’re going to present part two of this topic on Thursday. If you missed Wednesday’s program, be sure to tune in for this episode.

The Beauty of Working With People With Special Needs

Every man, woman and child who ever lives is created in the image and likeness of God, and is endowed with the same inherent dignity and worth. In addition, every person has a unique role to play in God’s grand design, a role that no one else can play. Some people are born and live with what are commonly called “special needs.” These can be physical, psychological, emotional, or other particular needs. What’s truly beautiful is when others step forward to assist them when they need it, while at the same time doing all they can to empower such individuals to be independent. Do you love someone with a special need? Have you worked or volunteered with them? If so, call and share your experience with Jerry and Debbie on Wednesday’s show. We’ll bet you got as much out of it as those you assisted.

Preparing For the Birth of Jesus

The liturgical season of Advent comes around every year. We’re called to place a special emphasis on preparing our hearts and minds for the “coming” of Jesus at Christmas. Of course, this has been no ordinary year. And we encourage you to make this no ordinary Advent. On Monday, join Jerry and Debbie as we discuss preparing for the birth of Jesus in a world that has gone mad. If you have ideas, we hope you will call and share them with the world.

Keep Calm and Enjoy the Holidays

Our last live show before the Thanksgiving break is about how we can all keep the stress and pressure of the holidays at a manageable level, while still enjoy them – God-willing – with family and friends. On Wednesday, call and share your “recipe” for keeping calm and enjoying the holidays. It will be a sort of hybrid show, as we invited those who didn’t get on the air on Tuesday (when we talk all about relationships) to feel free to call and discuss their relationship on Wednesday. Please join us!
