Meet the Real Pope Francis

We are all excited about the World Meeting of Families next week — and of course hearing from the Holy Father during the event.  Someone who has been able to be at many events with Pope Francis is Fr. Michael Collins who will be our guest on Friday’s show. Fr_Collins
Fr. Collins has taught in a number of universities, including the American University of Rome; John Cabot University; and Duquesne University, Rome Campus, and he currently serves in St. Mary’s Church in Dublin.

He has just written a book with more than 250 previously unpublished photographs, Pope Francis: A Photographic Portrait of the People’s Pope that follows the pontiff through a year in his life, from daily prayers to international pastoral visits, offering a rare look at life behind the scenes with His Holiness Pope Francis.

book-Pope-francesbookInspiring photographs from Pope Francis’s official photographer Rodolfo Felici capture both significant and informal events, from papal visits throughout the world to spontaneous moments at the Vatican, creating an exceptionally intimate portrait of the pope and an inside look at papal life. In Pope Francis: A Photographic Portrait of the People’s Pope, this close-up is coupled with the inside knowledge of author Father Michael Collins, a former adviser at the Vatican, who provides a complete look at Pope Francis’s journey from his boyhood in Argentina to the workings of the papacy and the Holy City.

Created in full cooperation with the Vatican, Pope Francis: A Photographic Portrait of the People’s Pope is a beautiful tribute to His Holiness Pope Francis, the first Jesuit and Latin American pope and a true pope of the people.  Join Jerry & Debbie as they welcome Fr. Collins.  Call in at 1-800-585-9396.

The drugging of America…

th (8)

Medications can be a Godsend… But they can also be misused, overused, and sometimes to the point of extreme danger.  Plus, prescriptions have side effects, which may be far worse than the initial illness to begin with…

Pills may treat the symptom, while the root problem (cause) still exists.  Are there alternatives to running to medication?  Did God provide for us natural ways to heal our issues without the use of synthetic drugs?

Share your experience, your “take” on this very important subject…Call in early at 1-800-585-9396.

Eucharistic Adoration- Best time you will ever spend!

St. Alphonsus Liguori wrote: “Of all devotions, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest after the Sacraments, the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us”. The Eucharist is a priceless treasure: By not only celebrating the Eucharist, but also by praying before It outside of Mass, we are enabled to make contact with the very wellsprings of Grace …”

Join us today on Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie as we discuss this great gift of our Faith…Call in, share your “take” at 1-800-585-9396.

“God, Help!!!”

How many times have you cried out to God like that? Something major happens, and you need His help now. There’s nothing wrong with doing that. God wants us to turn to Him in everything, especially when we need Him the most. But how do we turn our “911 God” into One we think of and converse with all the time, not just when things get rough? That’s what we’ll discuss – with your great takes – on the program Friday. Be sure to call early to get an open phone line!

How Do You Overcome Your Pet Peeves?

Let’s face it. We all have them. Those things that just annoy us to no end. They’re typically referred to as “pet peeves.” And there’s no doubt they can be a challenge when they confront us. But here are some questions for Thursday’s show: How do you manage your pet peeves? How do you use them as occasions to grow in patience? Is there one in particular that you’ve achieved victory over? The topic may seem mundane. But it has a lot to do with faith and spirituality. This is where the virtues come into play in our lives. So, get ready, and call with your takes on your “pet peeves,” Thursday at Noon ET (with an encore airing of the show at Midnight ET)!
