Which Part of the Body of Christ Are You?

The Bible talks about how everyone has a role to play in the functioning of the Church – the Body of Christ. Some are better at listening (ears), some like to be mobilized to help others (feet), while others find that their gift is to preach and evangelize (mouth). For the Body of Christ (the Church) to function at its best, it’s important that everyone fulfill their God-given role. We’ll talk about this with your takes on Thursday.

Do You Allow Yourself an Occasional “Luxury?”

Balance is critical to living a healthy life. Self-discipline, hard work, attending to one’s responsibilities, etc. But part of that balance can certainly include treating ourselves to an occasional “luxury.” Things like a massage, a manicure, a spa treatment, an upgrade of our favorite gadget before it breaks down, even a nice vacation. How do you balance these things in your life? Do you abstain from doing anything “nice” for yourself out of fear that you will be indulging too much? Or, perhaps you have grown accustomed to such personal “treats,” and feel that you have to scale back on them a bit. Share your take with Jerry and Debbie on Wednesday’s show at Noon ET.

Can I Help You?

The Bible says that it’s “better to give than to receive.” That’s right. It says, “better.” In no way does it imply that it’s “bad” to receive. In fact, if there were no one to receive acts of kindness, then there would be no acts of kindness. So, by receiving the generosity of others, we are actually enabling them to be charitable and have God bestow graces upon them. But for many of us, receiving the kindness of others is very difficult. We don’t believe that we deserve to be served by others, to have them do good things for us. Or, sometimes we just don’t believe that we need the help of others. Let’s talk about this on Monday with Jerry and Debbie.

Where Do You “Feed” Your Faith?

It’s one thing to gather with people you know and share beliefs with on Sunday. Maybe you even attend a prayer meeting or Bible study during the week. But our faith is meant to be lived 24/7. That means we should seek out opportunities to grow in our relationship with God whenever they present themselves. Are you part of a mom’s group? A men’s fellowship? Do you go to parish missions, retreats, conferences, etc.? Where is it that you “feed” your faith outside of weekend worship? Call with your take on this topic Friday at Noon ET on EWTN Radio.

How Do You Maintain Good Health?

Through a combination of things – good genes, eating right, exercising, getting enough rest, etc. – some people tend to be healthy most of the time, perhaps getting an “annual cold,” and that’s about it. Others are in an out of the doctor’s office throughout the year, even making visits to the emergency room. On Thursday, Jerry and Debbie want to hear your take about the general state of your health, and what you do to try to maintain good health. It’s more important than ever this time of year. Join us at Noon ET, with a replay of the show at Midnight ET.

The Impact of Absent Fathers

Countless people have grown up and spent much – or most – of their lives without their biological fathers. This can be the result of any number of circumstances. While the ideal situation is for children to have both a father and a mother involved in their lives from the very beginning, it’s often the case that they grow up without the helpful influence of one or the other of them. On Wednesday, Jerry and Debbie will welcome John Finch to the program. He is the producer of “The Father Effect,” a powerful documentary that has aired on EWTN Television. Here’s a portion of the show’s description:

In 2010, John Finch started a journey to find forgiveness for his father who committed suicide when he was only eleven years old. He had no idea how it would change his life forever as a man, husband, and father. This program shares John’s powerful story and the story of many men and women and their struggles of growing up with an absent father, how it influenced their life, and the life-changing power of forgiveness.

So, How Did It Go?

On Tuesday, Jerry and Debbie are back with their first live show after a short break to celebrate Christmas. Of course, we’re still in the joyous Christmas season. But, for most of us, the family gatherings have now come and gone for another year. So, our question for you is, “How did it go?” We pray that your get togethers were all filled with peace and harmony. Sometimes, though, differences in various ideologies can make for some awkward moments. In any event, let’s talk about how you spent your Christmas weekend at Noon ET on EWTN Radio.
