Diets are revealing. They tell us a lot about how we view food and even how we view ourselves. Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie is all about taking a “fresh look” on issues we all encounter. Tuesday’s show will be one you don’t want to miss. World renowned author and pediatrician Dr. Bill Sears will be our guest for the entire hour as we discuss this concept, “we are what we eat.” Please call in and take part in this conversation. Last time we had Dr. Bill on the show, comments poured in from listeners, sharing how they thoroughly enjoyed Dr Bill’s practical advice on living healthy. Dr. Bill Sears is not only a wonderful doctor and teacher, but his faith journey is an inspiring testimony we can all benefit from. Share your comment or ask your question by calling 1-800-585-9396.
For so many of us attending weekly Mass is part of our regime and the idea of missing Mass is unthinkable. But unfortunately for others, Mass may be an after thought. Planning to attend Mass may come after all the weekend plans of errands, events, sports, and even work. What is wrong with this picture? We know that the Eucharist is the source and summit of our Faith. The Eucharist is a source of grace. To intentionally miss Mass cuts one off from this grace and is in fact a sin. Knowing this, why is it still so easy for some to view Mass as an after thought? With your help, we can have an honest look at this and possibly help others grow in faith. Call in at 1-800-585-9396.

Prayer of St. Pio of Pietrelcina after Holy Communion
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have
You present so that I do not forget You.
You know how easily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak
and I need Your strength,
that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life,
and without You, I am without fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light,
and without You, I am in darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice
and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You
very much, and always be in Your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is,
I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of love.
Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close, and life passes;
death, judgment, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength,
so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You.
It is getting late and death approaches,
I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows.
O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!
Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers. I need You.
Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread,
so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness,
the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.
Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You,
if not by communion, at least by grace and love.
Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for divine consolation, because I do not merit it,
but the gift of Your Presence, oh yes, I ask this of You!
Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart,
Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more.
With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth
and continue to love You perfectly during all eternity. Amen.
Just look at a busy freeway. So many things could go wrong and sometimes do, but for the most part, a busy freeway seems to perform in a miraculous way. Look at our environment. There are many dangers present, yet we are able to thrive amongst the threats. Do you feel that every breath we take, every moment we are alive is truly a miracle? If so, then how do we respond to this? What glory and praise do we offer to God? Let’s chat about this on Thursday’s Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie. Call in and be part of the discussion at 1-800-585-9396.
We have all heard it said that stress is a killer. The word stress is used loosely but it really impacts us greatly. Stress does in fact cause damage to our bodies and our emotional health. Stress can manifest itself in many ways. Our spiritual growth can be stunted or even damaged all due to stressors in our life that have taken a toll on us. Is stress allowed by God? Is stress exploited by the dark one in an attempt to keep us distracted? Let’s talk about where stress comes from and what the Bible tells us we can do to combat the stressors in our life. People hear and absorb want they want to. You may have the best of intentions and still it is received incorrectly by friends and family. This can cause frustration on both sides of a relationship. Maybe you are just too drained to try and rectify situations. So what would be the healthy thing for you to do as a Christian. Let’s discuss it on Monday’s show. Share your experience at 1-800-585-9396.
When we fully allow God into our lives, fully rely on Him, all of life becomes a prayer. We can thank God for everything we are able to do. We can ask God for strength during the stressful times. We can praise God for all the wonderful blessings that surround us. We can beg God for relief during the most difficult of situations. Every breath we take, and move we make, can be a form of prayer. Communicating with God in our words, thoughts, and deeds gives daily life meaning and purpose. Life becomes so much more enjoyable when it is aligned with prayer. Let’s have a conversation about this topic. Please call in at 1-800-585-9396.
You have raised the children to go out into the world and be independent. Now the home is quiet. No need to stay up late and wait for the kids to come home safely. No need to wake up early and fix breakfast before school. Being empty-nesters can be an exciting phase of life or it can be an adjustment that seems lonely and almost unbearable. Maybe you and your spouse have longed for this time or maybe you have dreaded it. Where are you in this stage of life? Let’s talk about it…Call in at 1-800-585-9396.
The last thing one wants to experience while suffering, is the loss of friends. However, this seems to be a common occurrence. Friends are there when things are going great. Once tragedy hits, some of those same friends simply disappear… It is extremely painful. Let’s talk about it. Call in at 1-800-585-9396.
We text, email, post on Facebook…but are we really engaging and building relationships? Technology is supposed to make our lives more efficient, but at what cost? We can now pass on information in a quick and unattached way. Have we become anti-social because of technology? Have we sacrificed a basic human need for connection just to be efficient in our communication? What does this mean for our spiritual growth if we are disconnecting from society? Your loved one passes away. You are hurting, in shock and grieving. Then comes the reading of the Will. What follows next in some families could make for a great screenplay. It seems that money can bring out the worst in people. We want to tackle this subject in a real and honest way. Has this situation happened to you? Did the Will cause a family breakup? If you can relate to this scenario, then please call in and share your take at 1-800-585-9396. You may have a story of family healing and restoration that could help someone else going through this painful experience.
