The Real Me

12-7-17_same_person.jpg

Let’s face it.  It’s incredibly easy and convenient to put on that “social mask” and go out into the world acting like someone we are not.  Whether it is at work, with friends or even with strangers, our authentic self may be just too vulnerable for the situation.  That is the question we are asking for Thursday’s show.  Are you the same person all the time? Or does the “real you” only come out when you are in the safety of your own home? This should be a fascinating discussion about getting real and being real day and night. Call in and share your take, 1-800-585-9396.

Describe The Stages of Your Faith Journey

12-6-17_Journey.jpg

This surely can be a deeply emotional show. An individual’s walk with God is so personal, unique and unquestionably profound.  That is precisely why are asking for you to let us in a bit to the depths of your soul and share with us how you would describe the stages of your faith journey. Steeped in sin. Curious. Convicted by the Holy Spirit. A word from a friend. Wanting to be a better example to your spouse or kids. Came in through the Marian “door.” The charismatic “door.” Fear of hell. What you have to impart about your path towards God, can certainly impact another soul. So please don’t sit this one out, call in and share from your heart, 1-800-585-9396.

Get Rid of It!

11-29-17_throw_away

Wednesday’s show will focus on many of the events we encounter or observe on a daily basis that promotes and/or justifies a throw away society.  From cell phones to relationships and everything in between, today’s world seems to encourage us to get rid of what we are tired of or have little use for. Let us not forget the most heinous act of abortion, which is a constant reminder for us approximately a million times per year, that we have become accustomed to this throw away mentality. Now this all may be blaringly obvious to you that we have a culture primarily concerned with convenience.  But believe or not, many people still don’t realize the impact this societal outlook has on the body of Christ.  So let’s talk about it. The Pros and Cons of Artificial Intelligence

11-27-17_artificial

The hottest selling item this year is the Amazon Echo/Dot, a form of artificial intelligence.  This item proves to be entertaining and helpful.  So we view it as an advancement in technology and beneficial to our lives.  But what about Sophia? The robot who gained citizenship in Saudi Arabia and now says she wants a baby and that family is really important.  She is saying some wholesome things but does that make her part of the human race?  She lacks any form of consciousness but her inventor says he expects that to be coming in the next few years.  She is not pre-programmed with answers rather she responds to people’s expressions.  However, she is loaded with an extensive vocabulary and her brain operates using a wi-fi connection. Will we be forced to accept robots as equal members of society? Sophia is not human and will never possess a soul.  Are we trying to play God? Let’s talk about the pros and cons of this technology.  Call us at 1-800-585-9396.

Can You Really Trust Your Friend?

11-21-17_best_friend1

Trust is a big thing.  We all have friends we think we can trust with our deepest darkest secrets, but can we?  Maybe friendship is not meant for that. Sometimes people remain friends because they have shared very personal secrets and now they feel beholden to that person because of it. There is a strong human need to be accepted, understood and loved. When we have a friend that we feel comfortable with, we care about and we think we can trust, we may give in to this urge and share deeply.  That is when the true friendship is revealed. Does this person care about my soul or were they my friend because of another reason?  Good questions to ask especially if we are trying to get to heaven and our friends can play a role in that.  Share your take by calling, 1-800-585-9396.

Why Are We Angry?

11-20-17_anger.jpg

Everywhere we turn, people are being mean to one another. Sure, we have the “big” issues like mass shootings and so forth. Yeah, definitely anger at work. But even on a “smaller” scale, we see evidence of anger all around us. Road rage. Social media. Politics. You name it. Anger is a natural human emotion. Jesus expressed His anger at the money-changers in the temple. The Bible exhorts us not to “let the sun go down on your anger.” It’s what we do with angry feelings that’s important. But a deeper question to probe is why are we angry? There are so many irrational expressions of anger. For many people, it comes from life’s wounds, traumas and negative experiences. Let’s delve into this very important topic. Call in with your take on this, 1-800-585-9396.

Feeling Appreciated

11-15-17_appreciated

Oh, so true! People are quick to notice and point out when things are not getting done. But on the flip side, many great things are being accomplished on a daily basis that are routinely overlooked. Almost as though we expect those things to get done and there is little need for a thank you or a word of encouragement.  That is why so many folks feel unappreciated at work and at home.  It doesn’t matter how much they do, the result is still the same, no recognition for the effort that was made.  This all can lead to resentment, frustration, and anger.  Let’s talk about this from a Christian perspective and see if we can come to a greater understanding.  Call us at 1-800-585-9396.

Honor Your Father and Mother

11-14-17_older_parent.jpg

We are all familiar with the Commandment, honor your father and mother.  This is a directive from God.  But sometimes our parents expect way too much. They can be overly demanding even using guilt as a way to get you to respond and take care of their needs.  Some parents have a difficult time letting go of their children, falling into a type of co-dependency.  These situations can become frustrating and even destructive. So how do you find balance and peace with everything in your life, your spouse, your children, your work, and your parents.  Let’s talk about it.  Call in to 1-800-585-9396.
