We Believe in the Power of Prayer

Generic-prayer (1)

Here is the poem written and read by Fr. John on today’s show:

take2-01

Our first show of each month is dedicated to prayer.  Please join us as we pray for one another. Call, post or email us your prayer requests and intentions.  We truly do believe in the power of prayer.  As a family in the Lord, we can give the special gift of prayer for each other.  Prayer brings spiritual support, comfort and peace to all. At the end of the show, we will have Fr. John, a dear friend of Take 2, lead us in prayer and impart a blessing. 1-833-288-3986.

The Little Ones Can Be Great Teachers

Take2_073018- Wisdom-child.jpg

Children get it.  They know how to enjoy the moment.  They also know how to view things with a sense of awe and wonder.  Another great quality children have is their ability to shrug off fear.  We, as adults, could really benefit from watching how children approach new situations. But most of all, children seem to happily embrace God. Kids will say the most obvious but incredibly profound things about God.  If we really listen to our children, we can learn some great spiritual lessons.  Share with us what you have learned from your children or grandchildren. Prayers For The World

Take2_072618- World

Previously, we did a show asking if you had one wish for the world what would it be.  This show was very popular and it actually unfolded into prayers for the world instead of just wishes.  Then one of our Take 2 listeners suggested that we should dedicate an entire show on prayers for the world. So here we go, think globally and call in your prayer intentions.  At the end of the show we will lift up all the intentions and pray together.  1-833-288-3986.

Can Sports Be A Metaphor for Christian Life?

7-3-18-sports

Recently, New England Patriot’s quarterback Tom Brady gave an interview where he shared how watching and then playing sports shaped his spiritual life.  He talked about the joy that sports bring to the lives of the spectators.  Brady also shared how learning from his fans, his teammates, the coaches all helped him in his faith life.  He even shared how the sport taught him how to win and lose gracefully and also how to embrace humility.  So we are asking the question, can sports help us in our Christian walk?  St. Paul in the New Testament used running, for instance, to teach about the journey to God.  Interesting topic and one we hope you will weigh in on by calling, 1-833-288-3986.

If Only They Could Talk

Take2_072318- alexa

We are surrounded by surveillance cameras, tv’s, gadgets, etc that may be recording us and capturing our actions.  If all of these external devices could talk…what would they say about us? Interesting concept to explore and one that can totally relate to our spirituality.  When you really give it some thought, these mobile devices we have as our companions could actually reveal the most authentic version of ourselves if only they had the ability to speak. We tend to be the most genuine around technology and aren’t we called to be that way in real life as well? So what would your gadgets say about you? Is it in line with what your family and friends say about you?  This topic was suggested by Jeff Burson, who runs our social media for Take 2.  Call in and share your thoughts on this topic. 1-833-288-3986.

Looking Forward To The Weekend

Take2_072018- Weekend-plans.jpg

Everyone has a different concept of the weekends.  Many of us use the weekends to catch up on sleep or housework.  Some don’t even recognize the weekend because it is part of their weekly work schedule.  Others look forward to the weekends to kick back and let spontaneity prevail.  There are some that are strict about the Commandment, Keep Holy the Sabbath… Where are you with the weekends?  Let us in a bit on your weekend agenda and we can learn from you or maybe you could learn from others…Call us at, 1-833-288-3986.

What Is The Greatest Quality Humans Possess?

Take2_071718- human-quality.jpg

Humans have the capacity to be and capability to do so many things.  We know that from all the incredible achievements and advancements we have made in this world. The intellect though is one aspect of humanity.  God has bestowed so many more gifts and qualities to us that sometimes we may not fully realize or appreciate them all.  If you had to name the greatest quality we have as humans what would it be?  And do you demonstrate that quality or do you just wish others would? Interesting topic and one that we need your help with.  Call us, 1-833-288-3986.

My Show Is Starting

T2-7-13-18- TV or not TV.jpg

If you watch TV, you probably have certain shows you like and look forward to.  Can you share with us your television viewing habits?  Do you like sitcoms, crime stories, reality shows, documentaries or mainly the news? What programs grab your attention?  We can learn a lot about one another and even our faith by knowing what captivates people.  We have heard of many folks that have EWTN on TV playing all day every day. Please share with us your experience, the amount of time you watch television in a day and what really interests you. Call us at, 1-833-288-3986.

Take a Moment and Breathe

T2-7-12-18- react.jpg

There is a big difference between reacting and responding to difficult situations.  My (Debbie) husband Marty is always reminding me to respond in kindness and to avoid reacting. My husband is mainly concerned for my health. See reacting in haste tends to shoot the blood pressure sky-high and that cannot be good for the system.  Rather, when one takes a deep breath, waits for a moment, a calm, well thought out response can be expressed. Plus, as Catholic Christians, isn’t that what we are all called to do?  Maintain composure and respond with truth in love. Let’s have a candid discussion on this topic and see if we can begin to incorporate some new more Christian ways to handle difficult situations in life. Call in and share your experience, 1-833-288-3986.

Loving Life!

T2-7-11-18- fun.jpg

There is so much sadness and suffering in the world that sometimes we forget how much fun life can be.  Just look at a small child, they seem to gravitate towards all the fun things of life.  What brings you happiness, joy and laughter in your life?  Is it playing with your children or grandchildren?  Is it spending time with friends?  Is it reading a good book? Or maybe seeing a movie with a big tub of popcorn? Life doesn’t have to be serious all the time.  Troubles will always be there but a sense of fun may pass you by if you are not looking for it.  John 10:10 talks about how the thief steals and destroys but Christ came so that we may have life to the fullest.  This would certainly include a healthy dose of fun. Let’s talk about how to celebrate the lighter side of life.  1-833-288-3986.
