What’s the most important thing that helps you grow more deeply in love with your spouse?

Every morning I select partners who pray with me; today they are St Frances Xavier Cabrini and Father John Canjar who are very significant. St Frances Cabrini for the “Mother of Cabrini Shrine” where I was to be married and Fr. Canjar for counseling my fiancée and me during our marriage preparation. Fr. Canjar also helped my fiancée get an annulment from his 1st wife.
With my prayer partners in Adoration I was reminded that 50 years ago today I called off my beautiful wedding. The Lord also reminded me of the amazing miracle He was about to perform in a few days. The miracle was my fiancée, found Alcoholics Anonymous and has been sober 50 years! He celebrates that miracle in a few days. I am so proud of him as he has been an inspiration to his children and ours (we did get married and had 2 sons!) and has helped so many people along their path of recovery.
The Holy Spirit got my attention again today with Take 2 ‘s program entitled “What’s the most important thing that helps you grow more deeply in love with your spouse”? Although he is not my spouse any longer, I do love my former husband and pray daily in thanksgiving for his sobriety and for being a wonderful father to our children.
