Well, my father used to threaten me that if I didn’t get it right, that I would end up learning from the School of Hard Knocks, but I’m not sure that it really came from the right place, so-to-speak (i.e. speaking out of charity), or that he necessarily always knew the right course of action, or what (or perhaps whom) needed correcting, either. He certainly didn’t seem to have his own life all together. If I AM learning from the School of Hard Knocks, now, I don’t think I’m the only one who had a hand in it.
