Take 2 with Jerry & Debbie

Guys, Tell Us How You Thrive In Your Faith

On Monday, Jerry and Debbie will welcome calls from the men who listen to the show. We want to talk about “manly spirituality,” what types of things you do to thrive in your Christian faith and your overall relationship with God. It could be things like prayer, works of mercy, volunteering, being the best husband and father you can be, etc. It all goes into being a dependable and holy man of God. We’re not asking you to brag on yourself. We want you to share your high’s and low’s, up’s and down’s, so you can educate and inspire other men who will be listening!

  1. Jerry and Debbie,

    regarding Vocation Boom program

I ran across a reference to a 1961 Vatican document about candidacy for religious life. It was cited recently because it said way back then that individuals with a homosexual tendency should not be ordained. Now, I haven’t read the document yet, it’s quite lengthy. But, I wanted to put this on your “radar screen” regarding vocations to the priesthood.

  2. Men and women definitely approach the spiritual life differently. For example, regarding our young adults Catholic group, we have the men and women meet separately every 2 weeks. The men will usually engage in a physical activity, sport, or outreach mission to live out our faith amongst other Catholic men and the ladies will meet to discuss their relationships and life issues in a communal setting through a Catholic lens. I think guys need a more action-oriented approach to the spiritual life. Personally, I can only pray for so long without getting antsy and being inspired to do good for someone. Prayer usually gives me ideas on how to make someone’s day.
