Take 2

with Jerry & Debbie

Were You “Duped” By God?

In Jeremiah 20:7 the prophet cried out, “O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and thou has prevailed.” He was referring to His call to be a prophet. We don’t know what the Lord did to “dupe” Jeremiah, but the prophet made a decision to follow and serve the Lord before He knew what the stakes were. Sometimes we all feel that way. We might think something like, “Lord, this isn’t what I signed up for,” or, “If I had known it was going to be like this I would have given it a lot more thought before jumping in.” How did the Lord’s persuasive power coax you into enthusiastically following Him? And have there been times when – like Jeremiah – you have lamented to God about the cost of serving Him? Share your take with Jerry and Debbie on Monday.

  1. I listened to today’s show and those people who spoke of their suffering.

I was on hold to speak and share my input but unfortunately the show had run out of time. If there is any way possible to share with your callers the information I have, I would be so grateful!

I just purchased Mother Angelica’s book, Suffering and Burnout and it is perfect for those trying to understand ones own suffering and how it relates to the Lord. It is the most thorough book I have found to break down the relationship of suffering and God; including scriptural examples, the 9 different types of suffering and how each type strengthens your relationship with the Lord and your Faith, and more.
Please take a look at this book. It essential to understanding suffering.
