On Monday, Jerry and Debbie will talk about the upcoming 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. Or, what some people call the Protestant “Revolt.” It was led by a Catholic priest named Martin Luther. On October 31, 1517, he posted what are commonly referred to as his “95 theses.” Luther’s main contention was that the Catholic Church was selling indulgences. It was surely a time when the Church was in need of reform. But was a wholesale abandonment of the faith in order? History has revealed that Luther’s personal problems helped lead to his departure from the 1500-year history of the Christian Church. And we all know what that has turned into today. Call with your takes at Noon ET on Monday.

I have read that Luther didn’t actually nail his Theses to the church door and that this idea is a myth perpetuated by Protestants. But rather Luther sent his Theses to the pope. Does anyone have information on this?

VERY INTERESTING. WISH J&D COULD GET HIM AGAIN SOON TO TALK MORE ABOUT LUTHER – BUT WITH A GOOD CONNECTION- THE SOUND WAS NOT VERY GOOD! DEBBIE FREQUENTLY INVITES PEOPLE TO REPEAT IN THE PROGRAM AND I HOPE THIS TIME THEY DO GET HIM AGAIN SOON.
