Has Your Spouse Stopped Practicing the Faith?

Getting married “in the Church” is important to most young Catholics. They may have a Catholic ceremony, start out attending Mas regularly, perhaps even get involved in their parish along the way. But heartache hits many couples when one of them “decides” that he or she no longer wants to attend Mass, spend time in prayer, etc. That can be very traumatic for the spouse who remains faithful. Has this happened in your marriage? How have you dealt with it? Share your take with Jerry and Debbie on Monday.

  1. Has Your Spouse Stopped Practicing the Faith? So similar to my situation …I rediscovered what the church actually teaches about Catholicism…as and empty nester. This new found joy brings only contention . So wondering about the books you were suggesting to this caller

    • Hi, I’m not exactly clear what is meant by “what the church actually teaches about Catholicism” means. The Church is Catholic! What more is there to understand? Anyways, I’d suggest you practice the faith and let your joy overcome the contention. In other words, no need to argue with your spouse or anyone else because your joy should only bring love to others and in the end your salvation.
