  1. I had been on hold towards the end of the show but was unable to hang on. Enjoyed the discussion. I was going to mention four things about anxiety/stress, and coping with it, both natural and supernatural. First is that exercise is very helpful in dealing with all kinds of anxiety. The second is that Many times stress is the result of at least perceived lack of time. God is Lord of time, and I find when I start my day in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament everything falls into place even when I thought there was no way I could accomplish everything I needed to do, lending credence to the adage to “pray a half hour a day, unless you are busy make it an hour.” Another aspect of dealing with anxiety that I have had especially in regards to public speaking is that God is with us in every situation especially when we are doing things so that He will be known and loved by others, and not to worry… I could tell you a funny story about God’s sense of humor sometime. Lastly, I often have financial worries. I’m not a mystic by any means, but was at vigil Mass this past Saturday and was looking at the crucifix and Jesus said to me “I died for you, why are you worried about money?”

  2. Kevin,

Thanks for the great takes on anxiety. You make a lot of great points, especially the ones about trusting God. As Scripture says, “Fear is useless. What is needed is trust.” May we all develop a greater trust in the One who provides all that we need!
