Whom Are You Praying For?

Jerry and Debbie are back on Tuesday with their first live show of 2018. And we want to kick off the new year by inviting the world to pray for your special intentions. We’ve offered this show many times in the past, and you always come strong with your prayer intentions. It may be someone’s health, an employment situation, a relationship that needs mending, you name it. It’s your show, so be sure to call and allow us to share with the world whatever it is that you are praying for!

Holiday Unscripted

On Friday, Jerry and Debbie welcome your takes, comments, questions and insights on anything that’s on your mind or in your heart. About once a month we present what we call our “Unscripted” show. We don’t come with a specific topic. Rather, we let you set the table by calling and bringing up anything you’d like. This time, we want your takes on the holidays, how yours are going, if you got everything you wanted for Christmas, if you didn’t want or need anything in particular, etc. You can submit a conversation about cultural issues, current events, news items or anything going on in your life. We look forward to hearing from you!

“My Name Is (Your Name Here), and I’m a Member of Alcoholics Anonymous”

For anyone who struggles with alcoholism, each day can be a seemingly insurmountable challenge. This can be heightened around the holidays, when so many gatherings include abundant access to beer, wine and hard liquor. Join Jerry and Debbie on Thursday for what promises to be a deep and inspiring conversation with those who have experienced victory in their attempt to remain sober. We’ll talk about how those with an addiction to alcohol are as deserving as anyone else of great respect and dignity. So often, we turn to things like alcohol as a way of escaping the pain and difficulties of life. And there are moments – perhaps constantly for some – when it seems like there is no escape. If you or someone you love has achieved sobriety – even if that journey has included a fall here or there – please call and share your story on Thursday. As always, what you share could turn a life completely around. Wouldn’t that be worth a few minutes of your time? We certainly hope so!

What was once your secret is now your story. Share it Thursday on Take 2 With Jerry and Debbie

The Gift You Keep on Giving

Jerry and Debbie are back live on Wednesday following a brief break for Christmas programming and a pre-recorded show on Tuesday. And the topic will be…have you ever re-gifted something that you received at Christmas? Is it cool to do that? What if you get something for Christmas and you already have four of them? Is it considered “cheap” to give to someone else a gift that someone bought for you? Or is it sometimes frugal and good stewardship to re-gift something rather than have it collect dust on a shelf for the next several years? Let’s have a frank and lively conversation about this!

Send Your Christmas Greetings

On Friday, Jerry and Debbie invite you to express your love and Christmas wishes to anyone you’d like. Spouse. Son or daughter. Friend. Relative. Co-worker. It can someone you’ll be spending time with at Christmas this year, or someone you will be loving and missing greatly from a distance. Consider this your “on-air Christmas card” for the entire world to share in!

Taking Your Spiritual “Inventory”

Advent is a good time to reflect on how we have lived our lives over the past year. In fact,  it’s a great occasion to do a spiritual “inventory.” What exactly does that mean? It can mean many things, but in general it consists of drilling deep into our souls and determining if we have made spiritual progress. That’s obviously the goal of the Christian life. One key way to do this is to make a regular examination of conscience. Using a list of the ten commandments can greatly help us do that. On Tuesday, share with Jerry and Debbie what tools and exercises you make use of to check your spiritual “temperature.” It should be a very beneficial discussion!

Signs of Life In Your Area

On Monday, Jerry and Debbie will be back with you live to invite your takes on how the faith is “alive and well” in your area. So often, we hear the discouraging news of a “shortage of vocations,” parish closings or mergers, seminaries closing or being sold, this or that longtime ministry folding due to financial hard times. Yet, the Holy Spirit never ceases to inspire great faith initiatives and movements across the country and around the world. As a matter of fact, in some areas vocations are booming. New Catholic colleges and universities are being founded. Apostolates are flourishing in support of marriage, the family, pro-life – you name it. As you look around where you live, what signs of life do you see that the faith is either going strong or making a great comeback? Let us know on Monday!

It happens every year. The joyous celebration of Christmas. For many in the world, it comes and goes with a flash. Well, after several weeks of lights, music, festivities and parties. While there’s nothing wrong with participating in those activities, what does Christmas really mean to you? The Church puts in front of us twelve days of Christmas. Why is that? Isn’t Christmas just one special, important day? Join Jerry and Debbie on Wednesday as they are joined by Rebecca Even. She will share how you and your family can enter into the entire Christmas “season” with great joy.

Paint a Picture of Your Life

Life is an amazing journey. There are highs and lows, mountains and valleys, and lots of both forgettable and unforgettable experiences. These all shape us into the people we are today. Some have called this road through life a “tapestry” that we put together and gaze upon from time to time. On Tuesday, Jerry and Debbie invite you to call it your “picture.” If you were able to draw a picture that represents the “story” of your life, what colors would you use? What would you include? What would you definitely leave out? A heartfelt exercise like this will tell us a lot about ourselves and the lives we’ve been blessed to live!

What’s Your “First World Problem?”

OK. Let’s face it. We all have those little things in life that irritate us. Slow traffic. A restaurant meal that isn’t as hot as we would like it to be. When we get knocked off the Internet. Sure, these are definitely inconveniences. But how do we put them in perspective? Would I rather be frustrated at going 20 MPH below the speed limit, or be scrounging for my next meal in a third world country? Would I rather restart my laptop or be fighting for the right to practice my faith in a communist country? On Monday, let’s all “fess up” about the things that bother us, but aren’t really all that big a deal.
