I’m not aware of my ever having had a particular problem with that word.

I imagine one reason people might have a problem with that word might be that they have had very little, if any, experience with strong, wise leaders in their lives.

A theory: If “we” have a problem with obedience, it might be because “we” have met very few people who inspire obedience, and/or “we” have not been consistently taught, by word and example, to value proper obedience.
