You recently had a great program on the subject of Confession. I have a question on this subject and I’m hoping you have the answer or can direct me to find the answer. My parish priest never asks for an Act of Contrition to be said at the end of Confession. Is this still a valid Confession? Is it a requirement for the penitant to say an Act of Contrition? I know that when I confess to a priest who asks for an Act of Contrition to be said before absolution I always feel better about this beautiful Sacrament.
