Take 2

with Jerry & Debbie

Who Is Mary to You?

May is considered the Month of Mary for Catholics. But that may not mean anything to you, whether you’re Catholic or not. Why does the Catholic Church devote a whole month to the woman who gave birth to Jesus? If you have a devotion to Mary, can you give an explanation why? We look forward to your takes on Tuesday’s show with Jerry and Debbie.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Consecration to the Mother of God

  1. Lets remember that the Holy Fathers prayer intention for Evangelization for May 2016 is: That families, communities and groups may pray the Holy Rosary for evangelization and peace.
The Mother of God, Mary turns us to her son our lord Jesus Christ. We should all follow this example and turn one another to our lord, his one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. The Blessed Mother, has her part in the salvation of all mankind in that by special graces she was kept from original sin from birth as the tabernacle for the word made flesh. More than this though, after the virgin birth of Jesus, Mary and Joseph also parented our lord our God and as the Holy Family a symbol of the Holy Trinity. If you’re a parent yourself, right here today, meditate on the Holy Family as you care for your own children and remember this is how Joseph and Mary had to care for Jesus. If you’re not a parent, meditate on the Holy Family knowing there is no better example of parenting. Finally, Mary Mother of God is our Mother and Queen of Heaven.

  2. I was listening to EWTN last night, 5/5/2016 and I did not catch all the info for the memorare. It was said that if you say the Memorare 10 times in front of the statue of Mary ———– I did not catch the rest of the explanation. Could you please enlighten me?
